Department of Mathematics
Department of Mathematics has been established in year 1974. Since its inception, the department aspires to become a centre for excellence. Under the headship of Mrs. Nirmal Bansal and Mrs. Neera Seth, the department touched the new heights. The main objective of department is to facilitate educational inputs in accordance with the syllabi of G.N.D.U. and to prepare students for placement in industry, education sector or research. The department provides educational environment to students to sharpen skills in Mathematics. The more emphasis is given to the holistic approach of students. Right since 2004, when S. Ramanujan Society of mathematics was established, every year department has been using innovative methods to popularize Mathematics by presenting it in an interesting and colorful way. Various activities have been organized by the society. The faculty has been proficient to impart inputs so as to encourage all round personality development. Teacher student interaction is facilitated by encouraging wider participation of students. Personal attention is given to the students according to top, mediocre and weak categories. As a result, a good number of students place in university merit list every year and a number of alumnae placed at good positions in different fields at National level as well as International level.
